Age 92, of West Mifflin, died peacefully at home on August 26, 2018. Loving husband of “the most beautiful girl in the world,” his Emily. Beloved father of Taryn (Damian), Teresa (Craig), Edward Jr., William (Carole) and Tina (Tom); adored pap of Alison (Doug), Julie(Ben), Matt (Kate), Kirk (Courtney), Emily (Eryk), Brian (Olivia), David, Jason, Lexie, Charley and Shea; the sweetest great-pap to Espen, Ethan, Jesse, Chloe and Charlie;
Ed was preceeded in death by two brothers and two sisters and is survived by sister Irene.
Ed was a long-time educator in Munhall and Steel Valley, former owner of EJC Driving School, Greyhound Bus Driver, proud Korean War Vet, Pitt Grad and eternal optimist of all Pgh Sports. The family would like to thank Ed’s wonderful caregivers, especially Teresa, Tracey, Michael, Cathie, Ashley, Sarah, Tina, Miranda, Lois (and all the hospice staff), our VA team Nicole and Laura, and all the caring individuals along the way who always treated Dad with respect, dignity and kindness--we can never thank you enough. Ed was a man of great faith whose greatest joy was his family and the simple things in life. He showed us all how to navigate this life with quiet strength, acceptance, curiosity, grace, dignity, positivity and faith. We will love and miss him always.
