Albert Hamilton

Albert M. Hamilton, 93, passed away on March 7, 2014.

He was born May 5, 1920 in Whitaker, Pa., to the late Albert and Florence Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty Jane.

Albert was a lifelong resident of Munhall, Pa., and worked at U.S. Steel–Homestead Works for 40 years.  Part of the Greatest Generation, Albert served honorably in the Army in World War II and fought in both the European and Pacific Theatres.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna H. Scolnik (Glenn) of Indianapolis, In.; his son Albert M. Hamilton Jr. (Nan) of New Egypt, N.J.; five grandchildren:  Doug and Whitney Scolnik and Ashley, Katie and Brian Hamilton; and four great grand children.

Services will be held on Friday, March 14.  Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main St., Munhall, Pa., with a service at 11:00 a.m.  Private burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1100 Libery Avenue, Suite E - 201, Pittsburgh, PA  15222.
