Anthony J. Derkas

Anthony J. Derkas, born August 7, 1979, in McKeesport, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Munhall.

Anthony was known for his big heart. Those who knew him best remember his persistent cheerfulness and how his positive outlook brightened any room. Even through the challenges of a yearslong illness, Anthony’s spirit never waned. He continued to show remarkable perseverance, always choosing to adapt and overcome whatever obstacles lay in his path.

A devoted dad, Anthony leaves behind a loving circle of relatives who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by mother, Sandra Derkas, father, Bernard Derkas; his beloved children, Anthony and Paige Derkas; a brother, Joseph (Mandy) Derkas, and their young daughter LeeAnna Derkas; and lifelong partner, Tammie Miller; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Their shared moments with Anthony will serve as lasting reminders of his kindness and strength. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Derkas, whose memory Anthony held close.

Anthony’s passions enriched his days and brought him immense joy. He found happiness riding dirtbikes with his son, cherishing the sense of adventure and connection that these experiences brought. His love for motorcross was matched only by the affection he had for his cat, Gizmo, who offered companionship and comfort.

The Derkas family extends a special thank you to UPMC Family Hospice for their compassionate support during Anthony’s final chapter.

Friends and loved ones are invited to honor Anthony’s life during the visitation on June 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main St., Munhall, PA 15120. A funeral service will follow on June 27, 2026, beginning at 11:30 AM at the same location.

Anthony J. Derkas will be remembered for his unwavering optimism, his big heart, and his enduring love for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in all who loved him.
