Ashley Smock, age 39, passed on January 21, 2026. Ashley is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Dan and Ruth Smock, great aunts Dorothy Roberts, Jane Corcoran, and Margaret Vale. Ashley is survived by her father, Mark Smock, her mother, Bridget Palmieri, her grandparents, L. Robert and Carol Fisher, siblings Ryan Fisher, Allie Fisher, Katie (Te’Allen) Johnson, and Lauren Loop, uncle, Bob (Alyson) Fisher, cousin Jordan Fisher, uncle Tim (Michelle) Smock, cousins Michael Smock and Dan Smock, and beloved dog, Tippy. Step family Kim Pelc, Carrianne, Dan and Brian Odorisio. She is also survived by many other extended family members.
Ashely graduated from Montour High School in 2004. She graduated from Penn State University Summa Cum Laude in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She taught school in Fayetteville, North Carolina and then at Wilson Christian Academy before changing careers to work at Aetna Healthcare. In her free time, Ashley made wreaths and crafts, enjoyed amusement parks, helped others through mission work, gardened with her dad, had tea with her Mimi and Pappy, and spent time with Tippy. Her favorite things included the Millenium Force at Cedar Point, the Backstreet Boys, traveling, and spending time with her friends. Ashley was a member of Homeville Christian Church.
After her diagnosis of ovarian cancer, Ashley became involved with many cancer support and survivor groups including Young Adult Survivors United where she immersed herself in helping others. She participated in walks to honor her friends who were also battling cancer. Ashley’s strength and perseverance were a testament to her Christian faith. She rarely complained and always had a positive attitude depite battling ovarian cancer for six long years. She was looking forward to celebrating her 40th birthday on January 31st.
Visitation will be at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. #511 Main Street, Munhall PA 15120 on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 6 - 8PM and Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 6 - 8PM. In lieu of flowers, her father is requesting donations be sent to YASU at 1000 Brooktree Road, Suite 105, Wexford, PA 15090.
