Barbara Wynn Hunter

Barbara Hunter died on April 28, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Mathew James Ruggieri, and William Vernon Hunter, Jr.  Loving mother of William David Hunter (Christianna), Steven Wynn Hunter (Tracie), "other mother" of Todd Kinavey.  Daughter of the late Delmar and Hazel Wynn. Sister of Carole Mlakar (George), preceded in death by her brother Delmar John Wynn (Mary Jeanne). Cousin Patricia Ann Wynn.  Cherished Nana of Megan, Caroline and Haiden Hunter, Erica, Matthew and Michelle McDonough & "Nana the Great" to Christopher Hardesty, Edward Lowery, and Weston and Waylon Wolfe.  

Dear friend to her second family Ronald Ruggieri (Sharon) Bradley, Lori Montalbano (Ross), Gina, and Tony Montalbano and Debbie.

Barbara graduated in 1961 from the Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing and continued her nursing career in many facets until her passing.  Her family was her first love, and caring for people was her life's work.  

She was active in her church Holy Angels, located in Hays, PA, as a CCD Kindergarten teacher for twenty years and choir member.  Barbara enjoyed the role of Docent at the Frick Art & Historical Center for many years.

She will be missed by her friends, nieces, nephews, and her very much loved third sons and their families; Marty McDonough, Danny Evans and Christopher Kasprzak.

Family and friends received on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 2 - 4pm & 6 - 8pm at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA  15120 (412-461-6394).
