Charles Thomas Lucas

Charles Thomas Lucas, age 86, a life-long resident of Munhall, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.  He was born to Stanley and Mary (Vincevich) Lucas of Munhall, PA on December 29, 1935.  He was the youngest and last surviving sibling of 6 children:  Edward Lucas, Stanley Lucas, Russell Lucas, LaVerne O’Neil and Milton Lucas.  Survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Miller) Lucas formerly of Lincoln Place, PA whom he met at the Park Dairy in Munhall, PA and married April 28, 1962.  His children are the late Luke Lucas, Denise (Dan) Gomez of Corona, CA and the late Mark Lucas, surviving spouse Denise (Glivic) Lucas of Upper St. Clair, PA.  Loved by his four grandchildren: Jacob Lucas, Natalie Gomez, Brayden Lucas and Mia Gomez. 

  He graduated from Munhall High School in 1953. Charles also proudly served our country in the US Army.  He had fond memories of his time in the service and even met two of his future brother-in-laws (unknown to him at the time) on the train to basic training.  He was a longtime land surveyor with Kurch, Housley and Associates on McNeilly Road in Pittsburgh, PA and retired in 1996.  Also, he was a longtime member of Thompson Run Athletic Association and you could find him there bartending during his retirement years.

Charles was loved and will be missed by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and their children, and friends.  Whether you knew Charles as Chuck, Chuckie, Lucky Chucky, Chas, Luke and probably many more nicknames, you always knew that you were welcomed in his home, he loved to play cards and make you laugh and would proudly share his garden bounty with you. Anyone who knew him in the past several years, knew his favorite saying was “See you around like a donut!”  So dad, we all say, “See you around like a donut…this time in heaven!”

Pittsburgh, PA  15243.  Asbury Heights has been home to both Charles and Patricia for the past 5 years.  They are a community of angels that have cared for them tremendously. 

Family and Friends will be received on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall PA, 15120 (412.461.6394). A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park where military honors will be rendered.
