Dale P. Cochrane

Dale P. Cochrane, age 66, of West Mifflin, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, surrounded by family at UPMC Mercy Hospital. He died from a traumatic brain injury due to a fall on September 26, 2022. 

Dale was born March 15, 1956, to Roy and Eileen Cochrane of Pittsburgh. He worked as a journeyman electrician until his retirement in 2020 and was a lifelong member of IBEW Local #5 in Pittsburgh.

Dale was a dedicated believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and member at Walnut Grove Assembly of God Church for 35 years. For more than 27 years, he taught Sunday school to generations of children ages 3-5, where they affectionately knew him as “Mr. Dale.” Retirement provided even more opportunities to serve, as he volunteered at Walnut Grove’s Food Bank each week. 

Meticulous in his craftsmanship and a jack of all trades, Dale’s love language to family and friends was fixing things, refinishing furniture, and doing all types of electrical work. His handiwork appears in homes, sheds, and game rooms all across the Greater Pittsburgh region. 

Dale held a passion for building and painting model cars, kicking back to watch a NASCAR race or Steelers game, and enjoying long conversations with friends and family. He treasured spending time with his wife, Mary, children, Kevin and Kelly, and son-in-law, Dan.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Roy W. Cochrane. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cochrane; son, Kevin Cochrane; daughter, Kelly (Daniel) Freeman; brothers Ron (Sue) Cochrane, Larry Cochrane, and Roy (Lynan) Cochrane; sisters, Janet (John) Bowen, Debbie Cochrane, Mary Pat (Robert) Werley, Audrey (Denny) Antosik, and Paula (Denny) Rosato; mother, Eileen Cochrane; mother-in-law, Margaret Scalise; sisters-in-law, Margie Scalise and Pam (John) Bercik; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Dale’s viewing will take place Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at George Irvin Green Funeral Home at 3511 Main St., Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary of Walnut Grove Assembly of God Church at 44 Adams Avenue, West Mifflin, PA 15122. Burial will follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery.
