Daniel Cummings

Age 77 of West Mifflin, passed to our Lord on March 9, 2018;

Son of the late Daniel and Mary (Cloonan) Cummings;

Beloved husband of 47 years to Marlene “Gilda” (Gilarski);

Brother of Mary (Gene) Pilardi, Dorothy (Jerry) Gorman and the late Rita (Tom) Forbes;

Brother in law of Lorraine and Rich Boyle;

Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews;

Dan retired in 1996 from CCAC, South Campus as Head Grounds Keeper and Assistant Maintenance Director.

He was a graduate of Munhall H.S. Class of 58 and Penn State University.

In the past Dan enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader, singing in the church choir, bringing the Eucharist to the shut in’s and helping out with the fish fry. With the help of Fr. Bob at Holy Angels Church, Dan helped establish the Divine Mercy Sunday.  Dan was a member of the West Mifflin and Munhall Garden Clubs, the Greater Pittsburgh Dahlia Society and the Knights of Columbus.

Dan was a kind and caring person who would help anyone.  He was always proud of his wife, family, faith, tomatoes and dahlias, which he shared with many.

A special thank you to the Mercy Hospital 7th floor Nero Dept. and Medical ICU nurses and doctors.

Family and friends received on Tuesday from 1 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall, 15120 (412-461-6394).  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Holy Angels Church, Hays.
