Daniel E. Wehrer

May 8, 1955 — April 14, 2024

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Daniel E. Wehrer, age 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born May 8, 1955 to the late Russell and Ann (Matta) Wehrer of Munhall, Daniel grew up alongside two brothers: David (Sue) Wehrer &Mark (Debbie) Wehrer; and a sister, Diane (Jack) McCambridge. Daniel leaves behind the love and light of his life, wife Cheryl (Maxwell) Wehrer, and beloved daughter (and best friend), Katelyn Wehrer. He also leaves behind many treasured nieces & nephews, great-nephews & -nieces; and his trusty side kick, grand-pup, Daisy. Daniel was a devoted parishioner of Homeville Christian where he served on the yard crew, working to beautify his church. Daniel loved to be outside, he was an avid gardener and he walked everywhere he could, taking miles-long quests daily, walking as far as the city of Pittsburgh and back to West Mifflin like it was nothing. After a day of walking though, Daniel loved to eat, especially salmon. He’d order the salmon everywhere he went, always ranking whose was best. Daniel loved classic TV, like The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry and tinkering with his model trains, but he loved nothing more than the magical world of Disney. Daniel loved the “golden age” of Disney movies- the 1990’s; along with the limitless fun of Disney+ streaming. But ultimately it was the family trips to Disney World that stole his heart. He loved thrilling rides and big drops like The Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios, but it was Soarin’ and Living with the Land in EPCOT that kept him coming back for more. Daniel was a huge Star Wars fan, so when Galaxy’s Edge came to the parks, he was all in, even going so far as to make his own lightsaber with daughter, Katelyn, at Savi’s Workshop, and droid at the Droid Depot; memories that she and Cheryl will treasure forever. All and all, Daniel will be deeply missed by all whom knew him, especially by his beloved wife and daughter.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 16 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, (412)461-6394, where a funeral service is to take place on Wednesday, April 17 at 11 AM with Reverends Shawn Mitchell and Don Brookshire officiating.
