David L. Hunter

David L. Hunter, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh to parents, the late William and Elizabeth J. (Edwards) Hunter, David spent his younger years in Hays alongside his late brother, William V. Hunter, Jr. From there David entered the US Army just after his 22^nd birthday, during the Vietnam Conflict, where he maintained a rank of Private First Class. His service paved the way for his eventual career with the Federal Government as a contract specialist. David went on to marry his sweetheart, the late Virginia S. (Schmidt) with whom he shared two sons: Brandon D. (LuAnn Brink) Hunter and Kent H. (Elizabeth) Hunter. Once their time together came a close too soon, he married his love, the late Geraldine (Adreon), with whom he welcomed a step-son, Charles (Nancy) Adreon in to the fold. David was a proud grandpap of 6: Veronica, Drew, Noah, Evan Amelia, & Rosalie; and step-grandpap of 4: Colin, Darcy, Keegan, & Katie. David was deeply loved and will be greatly missed  by all those whom knew him.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 7, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, ((412)461-6394), where a funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, December 8, at 10 AM with Pastor Keith Kaufold officiating.
