David E. Megela

David E. Megela, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 3, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on September 15, 1957, in Pittsburgh, David was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and went on to build a fulfilling career as a salesman and driver for several food retailers. In his retirement, he found joy in driving a bus for the Oaks Retirement Residence in White Oak, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and warm demeanor.

David cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren – Emilia Cali, Savanna, Joseph, and Evie – who were his world. His passion for life extended beyond family; he was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed fishing, and loved swimming with his grandchildren. Gardening brought him great joy, and he delighted in cooking for his family, often bringing everyone together around the dining table. Additionally, David looked forward to vacations with his wife, Mary, and their family at the beach and on boat cruises, where unforgettable memories were created.

David is survived by his loving wife, Peg (Stubenbort) Megela; his son, Luke (Natalie) Megela; stepson, Justin (Sam) Tutich; his brother, Joseph (Brenda) Megela; and his nephew, Bradley Megela. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Margaret (Torok) Megela; his sister, Patty Behm; and his brother, John Megela, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, located at 3511 Main St., Munhall, PA 15120. Two visitations will be held on January 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  

David E. Megela will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous spirit, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
