Ross, D. Edward, of Lakewood Ranch, Fl, (formerly of Acme, PA) has gone Home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Scott (Lloyd); four sisters, Louise (Sprowls), Linda (Haurwitz), Donna (Huttenhower), and Amy (Conrad); and one brother, James. Mr. Ross is also survived by two nieces and four nephews.
For many years Ed was active in the highland bag pipe band community playing with award winning bands. He was with the first North American pipe band to ever place in the World Pipe Band Competition in Glasgow, Scotland. In competition, Ed’s drum core took many firsts. Mr. Ross also accumulated many prizes in individual highland drumming competitions. In addition, Ed also enjoyed target shooting and has numerous first place trophies spanning a number of different events utilizing a variety of weapons. As Mr. Ross enjoyed the outdoors, he also liked camping and fishing.
Family and friends will be received on August 17 at Stahlstown Trinity United Methodist Church, 1582 State Route 711, Stahlstown, PA, from 10:00am to 11:00am with the memorial service immediately following. Interment will be in Homestead Cemetery, Main Street, Munhall, PA at approximately 2:30.
