It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of Denise Rose (Dickson) Farren of Munhall, formerly of Hazelwood, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Born on February 8, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Denise was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Jane (Milan) Dickson. A lifelong caregiver at heart, Denise devoted much of her life to serving others through her work at Kane Regional Center and in private home care. Her compassion, patience, and tireless dedication touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on all those she cared for.
Denise had a deep love for travel, especially when it brought her to visit her cherished cousins in California and Mexico. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her love of people—she truly thrived in the company of friends and family, always quick with a laugh and ready to share stories over a hand of cards or a favorite soap opera.
Whether watching movies, engaging in games of chance, or simply enjoying a conversation, Denise brought joy, warmth, and humor to every moment. She will be remembered for her fierce love, unwavering loyalty, and the protective kindness she showed to all those she held dear.
Denise was a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by her son Raymond Farren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank (Butch) Farren; and her sisters and brother-in-law, Susan (Dave) Fleming and Diane Nixon and her grandparents and other relatives.
Denise’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and those fortunate enough to have known her. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will be a blessing forever.
Raise a glass of Black Velvet with a toast to Dixie, Cornball, Aunt NeNe….the woman we all loved.
