Don Lyell Cook, age 97, from Homestead Park passed away Sunday, March 24, at Wesbury Nusing Home with his family present. Lyell, as he was known, was born May 28, 1915 in Homestead, PA to the late Don O and Jesse Cook. His loving wife of 59 years, Ruth M. Cook, preceded him in death. He is survived by his 2 sons; Don (Carolyn)of Gibsonia PA, and Bob (Gretchen) of South Bend, IN; four loving grandchildren, Todd (Beth) Cook, Tracee (David) Saslowsky, Susan (Daniel) Carter, and Rob Cook and nine greatgrandchildren. Also surving is one brother, Rev. George Sturley Cook currently living in Connecticut and several nephews and their families.
Lyell retired from USSteel after 38 years and enjoyed traveling for many years with his wife Ruth.
He was a member of LifeSpan Senior Luncheon Group and AARP Travel Group.
The family would like to give a special Thank you to the staff at Wesbury for the loving care and support given to our Dad and our family during his residency there.
