Doris W. Mathos

With grateful hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Doris W. Mathos, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the age of 100.

Doris was born on August 7, 1925, in Hayes, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Elsie Worgan. She lived a long and beautiful life by kindness, extraordinary strength, unwavering love for her family, and a heart that found joy in life’s simple blessings.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Mathos. In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her sons, Gary Mathos and Terry Mathos; her granddaughter, Christine; and two great-grandchildren.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Kurt (Cathy) Mathos; her daughter-in-law, Rose Ann (Bob) Mathos; her grandchildren, Sherri Pack, Gary (Melanie) Mathos, Brian (Chrissy) Mathos, Misty (Rich) Egizio, Kimberly (Jason)) Kracun, Tanner Mathos, and Jenna Mathos; twelve great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Doris dedicated 23 years of service to Kroger. She found great happiness in spending time with her family. She especially loved family gatherings, traveling with friends, and sharing her passion for gardening through several local garden clubs.

Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice in the assurance that Doris is now at peace in her eternal home. Her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
