Dorothy Jean Croft, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025. Born in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, on July 28, 1945, Dorothy lived a life filled with faith, laughter, and love that touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Croft; her loving sons Aaron (Maureen) and Nathan (Amanda); her cherished grandchildren Isabella, Riley, Matthew, Kennedy, and Cooper; her sister Marilyn Hill (William); and her brothers John Blick (Darlene), William Blick (Nancy), and James Blick. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, friends, and the many children whose lives she enriched through her care and compassion.
Dorothy wore many hats throughout her wonderful life. She spent many years as a travel agent, before retiring and embracing her true calling as a caregiver. Over the years, she cared for numerous children who adored her warmth and energy—each one becoming part of her extended family.
A dedicated member of Christ United Methodist Church, Dorothy found great joy in serving her congregation through youth ministries and church choirs. Her faith was steady and her heart was open, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Those who knew Dorothy will remember her for her kindness, her generous spirit, and her remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. She loved our yearly camping and/or trips to Canadohta Lake
with friends and family. She loved roller coasters (even in the rain!), a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan, and a fierce competitor in board and card games, never turning down a chance for a little friendly rivalry and laughter.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy’s life during viewing services at Green Funeral Home (3511 Main St, Munhall, PA 15120) on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, at 10 AM at Christ United Methodist Church(44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102).
All are welcome to join the procession to Jefferson Memorial Cemetery (401 Curry Hollow Rd Pittsburgh, PA 15236) immediately following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church, where Dorothy shared her faith and her heart with so many.
Dorothy’s light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Her kindness, laughter, and love will never be forgotten.
