Dorothy K. Welsh

Dorothy K. Welsh, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Known as “The General” by her nearest and dearest, she was the beloved wife of the late John J. Welsh. Mother of Kathy, Diane (Paul) Stoecker, John (Mary), and Susan Zirkle. Cherished grandmother of Richard, Ashley, Kelly, Sarah, and Alaetra. Treasured Great-Grandmother of Emma and Ethan DeBaker.

Dorothy was a homemaker who loved working around the house and her gardens, enjoyed jig-saw puzzles and collecting salt n pepper shakers. She was known for her legendary potato salad, and her strong Catholic faith, she enjoyed attending church services regularly.

Preceded in death by her, husband John J., parents and her siblings Doris, Virginia and Nancy.

The Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of AHN Jefferson regional hospital in the cardiac and hospice care (5th and 4th floors) for the expert and loving care she received during her last days there.

Family and friends received on Wednesday, May 14, from 4-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, 412-461-6394. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Thursday, May 15, at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish: St. Therese R.C. Church Worship Site with Fr. Jim Bachner presiding.
