Dorothy M. Welsh

Age 87, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on February 9th, 2024. She was predeceased by her dedicated husband of 62 years, Gerald Welsh. Loving mother of William (Barb) of Houston, Steven (Beverly) of Munhall, Jerry (Lisa) of West Mifflin, Carol (Bud) Curry of Elizabeth Twp. and Jean (Bill) Marshall of Jefferson Hills.  Cherished Grandmother of Sarah, Kevin (Ashley), Heather, Steven (Jessica), Jessi (Aaron), Garret (Tara), Tyler, Rebecca, Jeremy and Billy.Loving great-grandmother of Colin, Katie, Dustin, Jonah, Aaden, Weston, Camden, Bennet, Theo and Indie.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Steven and Theresa (Bajura) Vehec, and brothers Michael, Robert and David Vehec. 

She was a long-time member of Holy Angels Parish, (Hays, PA), serving many years as a lecturer. Dorothy was a life-long member of the FCSLA, especially enjoying the annual Kennywood Slovak Day. She was the former owner/operator of her own Dance Studio. Her passions included boating with her family at the Yough Lake and gardening. 

Dorothy was the Slovak Queen.  She was the beloved matriarch of the Welsh family.  She is leaving behind a legacy of strong women, loving mothers, and lasting family bonds.  She particularly loved giving speeches at family gatherings.  

The Welsh family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to Advantage Hospice (Trish), and her special caregiver Jamie. 

Friends received on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St., Munhall 412-461-6394.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at Holy Trinity Church in West Mifflin at 10:00 a.m.
