Dr. James R. Dee, Jr.

Dr. James Richard Dee, Jr., at age 74, of Pittsburgh, PA and Port St. Lucie, FL passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2023 in Port St. Lucie, FL.  Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late James Richard Dee and Maureen (Cunningham) Dee.  He is survived by his loving wife of 49 year, Kathleen (Jackson) Dee.  He was raised in West Homestead with his brother, Robert.  He attended St. Therese Elementary School, Bishop Boyle High School, and the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a BS, MA, and DMD degrees.  He retired in 2007 having had a successful career in Orthodontics.  Jim had a passion for life and always lived life to its fullest.  He was kind, caring and a sensitive guy with a wicked sense of humor.  He loved skiing, telling a joke, and he loved golf and made many friends at Longue Vue Club, where he served on many committees and eventually served as President.  The last nine years Jim and Kathleen spent their winters in Port St. Lucie, FL playing golf at The Legacy Golf and Tennis Club.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his brother, Robert Dee (Leetsdale), his brother-in- law, Alfred Jackson (Judy) (Pittsburgh), sister-in-law, Denise Burrell (California) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Jim was a Shriner.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Shriners Children’s Hospital Erie, 1645 West 8^th Street Erie, PA 16505.

Masonic Services will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2:30 PM, followed by Visitation from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main St. Munhall, PA 15120.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese of Lisieux, 1 St. Therese Court, Munhall, PA 15120.  Inurnment will be private.
