Edward Hood

On July 22, 2013, age 81, of West Homestead.  Beloved husband of 49 years to Kay F. (Longo) Hood; loving father of Mary Frances Hood and H. Edward Hood; beloved son of the late Edward J. and Sarah (Pigott) Hood; loving brother the late Mary Louise Hood Gombos; loving brother-in-law of Barbara Longo and Sr. Frances Ann Longo of Manitowoc, WI; cherished uncle of Thomas (Melanie) Gombos of Venice, FL; and great-uncle of Thomas (Shelley) Gombos and Bradley Gombos of Venice, FL.  Proud member of the 1950 Homestead High School State Basketball Champions, Ed was a graduate of W. Virginia Wesleyan College and a 2002 West Virginia Wesleyan College Hall of Fame Inductee.  He was a member of the WVIAC All-Conference Basketball and Track.  He was a supervisor for 37 years with U.S.Steel Friends received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home Inc. 3511 Main St. Munhall 412-461-6394 Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Therese R.C. Church.
