On May 21, 2014, age 85 of Munhall;
Ed was born in Homestead the son of the late John and Mary (Gaulden) Sninsky
Beloved wife of Anna Marie (Jacko) Sninsky who just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary;
Cherished father Robert, James, Maria Sninsky and Ann Rokicki;
Loving grandfather of Ryan, and Matthew Rokicki;
Survived by his siblings George Raymonds, Helen Plavetsky, James (Roberta) Sninsky and Donald Sninsky;
Also many nieces and nephews;
Preceded in death by his siblings John Sninsky, Marie Lust, Margaret Yuresic and Andrew Sninsky;
Ed was a proud graduate of Munhall High School, and Duquesne University in 1953 with a B.A. in economics. He was a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army spending 2 years in the South Pacific looking for downed aircraft lost in WWII. Ed was retired from J & L Steel Co. with 30 years of service in the Planning and Operations Dept. and the Financial Analysis Dept. He volunteered as a greeter and docent at the Heinz History Center, was a freelance writer of local history and had articles published in the Mifflin Historical Society, Steel Industry Heritage Corp., and the Historical Society of Western PA. Ed also volunteered for many years at St. Rita’s Parish in Munhall.
A mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 10 am in St. Rita R.C. Church in Munhall (EVERYONE TO MEET AT CHURCH). There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 412-461-6394.
