Eleftherios (Lou) Parikakis 

1930 - 2024

Lou Parikakis of Allison Park, PA passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024.  He was 93 years old.

Lou and his sister, Helen (deceased) were born in Homestead, PA to Michael Parikakis and Virginia Mousadis Parikakis.

Lou was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.  While stationed in the Great Lakes Region on USCG cutter Mackinaw he met his wife, Sophie (who preceded him in death).

His career led him to being a buyer for department stores and co-owning a convenience store.  

Lou enjoyed people, tending to flowers and his lawn, and cooking while welcoming family and friends for holidays and celebrations.  He loved laughter, a good prank, telling stories about his adventures, and providing advice.  More than anything, Lou was devoted to and loved his wife Sophie (Marge) and his family.  He and Sophie had three daughters, Katrina (Bill) Fiedler, Virginia (Mike) Zagnacky and Anastasia (Joe) Barron who will forever cherish his memory.

He treasured his grandchildren, Bill (Nikole) Fiedler, Nicole (Craig) Steiner and Danielle Zagnacky (deceased), and great-grandchildren, Christian, Aleks, Sofia, Katie, Luci and Thea.

Lou's kind heart will be missed by family, friends and all who knew him.  May his memory be eternal.

Visitation will be Monday, 2/19/2024 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Pittsburgh with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM.  Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, 2/20/2024 at 10:00 AM, immediately followed by services at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.  Funeral ceremonies will follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery with military honors.
