Estella Martin

Estella M. (Shields) Martin, known to family and friends as Stella, age 89, of Whitaker passed away surrounded by family on January 20, 2026.

She was born on August 6, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter of the late Harry W. Shields and Anna Jane (Tole).

She was greeted in heaven by, her husband Robert “Bob” M. Martin, her sisters Dolores Johnson, Jane Petruzzi, and her brother Robert Shields

Stella is survived by her two sons, David (Kim) Martin of West Mifflin, PA and Rick (Karen) Martin of Greenville, SC; She was the loving grandmother of Justin (Jodi) Martin, Mark (Stephanie) Martin, Dana (Jason) Sauer and Jake Martin; She adored her great-grandchildren Caleb, Audrey, Baleigh Martin, and Ben and Collins Sauer. She is also survived by 3 siblings Harry “Chuck” (Polly) Shields of FL, Dennis (Susan) Shields of CA, and Kevin (Lori) Shields of FL.

Stella was a devoted follower of the Lord and was dedicated Member of St. Thomas the Apostles Parish. She was also a member of the Whitaker Fire Ladies.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11 AM in St. Thomas the Apostles Parish, St. Rita RC Church worship site EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHUCH with Inurnment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Munhall.
