She was the beloved wife of 55 years, to the late Frank Chernotowich; Esther was the oldest daughter of the late Ortenzio and Letizia Zappa; she was the most loving and giving mother of Joann Chernotowich and Phyllis and Bob Milkowski; she was the most wonderful "Nunnie" to her only grandchild, Nicole Lucas and her significant other, Travis Aikman; she was a devoted sister to Eleanor (the late Armand) Scenna of Wheeling, WV and Nancy (John) Rozgonyi of Lincoln Place, and previously deceased brothers, Tony, Frank, Carl, and Junior; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Esther worked many years for both United Baking Company and Allegheny County Health Dept., McKeesport office. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and gardening, most especially her roses. Because of her love of roses, she was affectionately called "Rose Bud" by her immediate family.
