Evelyn Turner  age 86 died Monday, August 15, 2016 at home in Myrtle Beach surrounded by her family. She was born in Homestead Park and was the wife of the late John Moore Turner, and the daughter of the late Edward Nicholas Ohm and Edith Jordan Ohm. Evelyn and John were married for 64 years before John’s passing in 2012. While living in Pittsburgh, Evelyn was a active member of St. Therese of Lisiex R.C. Church. After living in the Pittsburgh area for over 54 years, she moved to Myrtle Beach and joined St. Michaels R.C. Church in Garden City. Evelyn was generous with her time and talents with many charities and individuals by donating her hand crocheted afghans. She also supported the US Postal Service by shipping thousands of “care packages” and cards to those she loved over the years. Beloved mother of  Diane (Jack) Burnes of Bethel Park, John (Darlene) Turner Jr. of Akron, Oh, Gary (Stephanie) Turner of Munhall, and David (William Cokeley) Turner of Houston, TX. Cherished grandmother of Jackie (Alex) Kelly, Jenny Turner, Reid (Cathy) Burnes, Marc (Jodi) Burnes, Jamie and Melanie Turner and 10 great grandchildren. Friends received on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at George Irvin Green Funeral, Inc. 3511 Main Street Munhall 412-461-6394. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Therese of Lisieux R.C. Church on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grand Strand Humane Society, 3241 10th Ave. N. Ext. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 or to the St. Francis Humane Society Georgetown, SC 29440.
