Gerald Firek

Gerald T. Firek on January 5, 2021, age 80, of Pittsburgh. He was born in Vandergrift a son of the late George and Mary (Filo) Firek. Beloved husband of 56 years to Kathleen (McArdle); loving father of Marci (John) Sterling, Bob (Rhonda) Firek, Brian (Karin) Firek, and Matt Firek. Cherished grandfather of RaeAnn and Renee Firek; Cherished brother of Mary Rose (John) Gupton and David (Cathy) Firek; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gerry was honorably discharged from the United States National Guard.  He was a long-time employee and member of Holy Angels Church in Hays.  He was an avid grouse hunter and loyal Jeopardy viewer. He enjoyed the challenge of a New York Times crossword puzzle and his nightly cup of “tea”. He will be remembered most for love he had for his family. Gerry will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.  Friends will be received on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 2 -4 and 6-8 PM at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 (412-461-6394). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish, Holy Angels worships site on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:30 AM.
