Helen Booth

Helen L. (Kelly) Booth passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021, age 94, of Munhall. Born in Homestead, a daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (Simmers) Kelly. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Edmund WWII veteran, Loving mother of the late Florence (David) Deramo and the late Paul (Patricia) Booth. Cherished grandmother of Dawn (David) Lynch, David (Barbara) Deramo, Paul (Barbara) Booth, Kenneth (Karen) Booth, Patrick (Lea) Booth, Jeffrey (Julie) Booth and late Denise (Richard Vantell) Gaskins and great-grandmother of Noah, Kellen, Joseph, Gabrielle, John Michael, Sage, Mia, Brooklyn, John, James, Lauren, Kristen, Kelsey, Katie, Kasey, Kenny, Alexandra, Gabriella, Samantha, Rebecca and Natalie. In addition to her parents and children, she was preceded in death by her brother Harold and sister Florence.

Helen worked as a librarian at the Carnegie Library of Homestead.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, bingo, and occasional casino trips.  For many decades, she enjoyed Sunday breakfasts with her daughter’s family in West Mifflin and annual trips to Maple Shade and the Jersey Shore to spend time with her son’s family.

A Committal Service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery.
