Helen Shumaker

Helen (Sabo) Shumaker, 94, of West Mifflin, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Homestead, the daughter of the late Samuel and Jessie (Dancso) Sabo. Helen was a lifelong member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead, where she was the first woman elder, assistant treasurer and member of the Friendship Circle. She was also a member of the Homeville Fire Ladies. Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Shumaker; cherished mother of Vera (John) Recktosh; special grandmother of Michelle Recktosh and finance, Michael Pasko, Jill (Tim) Fullard and Jennifer (Ron) Skillpa; loving great-grandmother of Shane and Nicholas Skillpa, Jacob Hesse and Samantha Fullard; special sister of Dorothy (Peter) Marciniec; special sister-in-law to Alice Sabo and Margaret Sabo; also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews. Preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Radis; and brothers, William and Samuel Sabo.
