Imre "Jimmy" Nemeth

Imre Nemeth, affectionately known to family and friends as "Jimmy," peacefully passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 21, 1936, in Gyormare, Hungary, he embraced his Hungarian heritage throughout his life. Jimmy grew up with a strong sense of family and community, earning his high school diploma before joining the United States Army, where he served with honor as a Private First Class from December 15, 1962, until his discharge on December 31, 1965. He later dedicated himself to a career as a welder at Duquesne Slag in the manufacturing industry, where his craftsmanship and work ethic were widely respected.A man of the outdoors, Jimmy cherished time spent at camp, where he enjoyed the beauty of nature and the company of friends and family. He held dear the memories of frequent trips back to Hungary, where he reconnected with his roots and spent time with loved ones.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved sons, James (Maria) and Alexander Nemeth & beloved sister Macgdolna Nemeth of Hungary, all of whom will carry on his legacy. Imre was preceded in death by his loving wife, Matilda (Lakner) Nemeth, and parents, James & Tere'z (Horvath) Nemeth.

In this time of mourning, we honor the life of Imre "Jimmy" Nemeth-a devoted family man, a skilled craftsman, and a proud son of Hungary-whose spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family and friends received at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120, on Tuesday, July 7, and Wednesday, July 8, from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. A Blessing Service will be held at the Funeral Home the following morning, Thursday, July 9, at 11 AM with Rev. Daniel Borsay officiating. Burial is to follow.
