On Wednesday, March 22nd, Jacquelyn Louise Schmidt, of West Mifflin, age 78, passed away, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Braddock to her late parents John and Irene (Ceglarek) Farmer, Jacquelyn was pre-deceased by husband Fredrick and a brother, Michael Evanga. Jacquelyn leaves behind two wonderful children, daughter Meredith (Joseph) Muntan, and son Michael (Liz) Angelo; along with five doting grandchildren: Kristoffer Angelo, Robert (Margo Dominicis) Terek, Michael Terek, Diane (David) Terek-Coneway, and Mark Burnett. Jaquelyn also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Luca, Mason, Dylan, Christopher, Aiden, and Kileigh. Jacquelyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved family.
Jacquelyn was a proud veteran, serving her country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. She followed this with a storied career in retail as a sales associate with JC Penney’s for 35 years. Jacquelyn loved crossword puzzles, reading, and learning all she could about the Civil War, even taking trips to Philadelphia and Gettysburg with her daughter Meredith to experience this history first hand. However, Jacquelyn loved nothing more perhaps than her miniature schnauzer, Camie, who had passed several years before her best friend and cherished master.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 26th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120 ((412)461-6394), where a funeral service will be held at 2:30pm with Chaplain Henry Frain officiating. Jacquelyn will be inurned with her late husband, Fredrick, in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
