On Wednesday, March 9, 2022 Jean Ann went home to her Lord and Savior. She was born in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Jacob and Frances (Schepis) Straub.
Jean Ann was the best mum in the whole world to her two favorite children, Kathi (Drew) Tirpak and Jason Porvaznik. She was the beloved sister to Linda (Terrance) Kalcevic, beloved sister-in-law to Donna Porvaznik, best friend of Irene Plesniak, the cherished matriarch of all of her cousins and loving niece to Uncle Bobby Schepis.
Jean Ann had a way of making anyone she met feel like family. Everyone was always welcome in her home. She was an incredible cook and baker and was famous for her holiday and Sunday dinners. We often described her as tiny but mighty…tiny in stature but the strongest person you would ever meet. She had the brightest smile and the best attitude. No matter what life threw her, she took it in stride and kept smiling. She always said, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” An amazing woman who was truly beautiful on the inside and the outside. She was an esthetician for over 40 years and also enjoyed working with her daughter at Tri-Boro FCU. A hard worker, she didn’t retire until she was 75. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and true friendship.
Family & Friends will be received on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM in the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main Street 15120, where a Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:30 AM with Fr. Terry O'Connor officiating.
