On December 15, 2017 age 94 of West Homestead;
John was born in Hays the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hick) Colizza;
John was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War, a retired roll turner for U.S. Steel, member of the Hazelwood American Legion, member of the West Homestead Volunteer Fire Dept and an active member of St. Therese Church in Munhall;
Beloved husband of Anita (Rocco) Colizza for 69 years;
Loving father of Connie (Bill) Galvin, John (Lynn-Marie), Tony, Tom (Nancy) and Tina (Michael) Miguel;
Cherished grandfather of Shawn (Karen) Galvin, Amy (Joe) Vasek, Christopher (Liz) Colizza, Nicholas Colizza, Barbara Colizza and Megan Miguel;
Special great – grandfather to 6 great – grandchildren;
Preceded in death by his sisters Julia Vento, Louise Painter, Dolores Colizza and brothers Anthony, Edward, Albert, Frank and Joseph;
Family and friends received on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall, 15120 (412-461-6394). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Therese Church in Munhall.
