John Jay Ryan "Rat"

John Jay Ryan "Rat", age 74, a lifelong resident of Hazelwood passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Born in Pittsburgh; a son of the late Martin L. Ryan Sr. and Theresa Marie (Enocenti). Beloved father of Jennifer Ryan; Cherished grandfather of Kira Owens; Dear brother of Sandra Lee Ryan, Barbara Ann Ryan, Martin L. Ryan Jr. and the late James Ryan; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

John was fondly known to many as "Rat". He was a union carpenter until his retirement. He loved his sweets, especially candy & ice cream, Stouffers Mac N Cheese. He enjoyed Country Westerns and played the lottery daily. He fought a long courageous battle with cancer, but he would not want to be remembered that way. Remember him for his great sense of humor, quick wit and the great friend he was to all who knew him.

Friends and Family will be received on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 2-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 (412.461.6394), where a Blessing Service will be held at 2PM with Fr. Daniel Walsh officiating.
