John “Jack” T. Munsie, Sr., age 83, of West Mifflin, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, surround by those he loved. Formerly of Munhall, Jack was born on September 16, 1940 in Hazelwood to parents John T. and Ida (Reagan) Munsie, and was raised in part by step-father, Elmer J. Finch, all whom have since passed on along with his two brothers, the late Richard and James Munsie. Jack is also predeceased by his beloved bride, Geraldine “Jenny” R. (Cocuzzi) Munsie, and their son, the late Jason (wife Stacey survives) Muncie. Jack leaves behind a son, John T. (Christine) Munsie, and six adored grandchildren: Anna, Ian, Cameron, Riley, Ryan, and Aidan, all of whom will miss their Pap dearly. Jack was a proud veteran, serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was also a highly respected, retired, police officer for Allegheny County Police and retired chief of courtroom security with the US Marshall’s Western District of Pennsylvania. With that said, Jack was an esteemed member of FOP #91 and White Oak VFW. He was also a devoted member of St. Rita's Church. And of course, like any good Pittsburgher, Jack loved his sports, whether that be the Pirates, Penguins, or Steelers.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, September 25 from 5-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street, Munhall 15120, ((412)461-6394), where a memorial service will be held at 6 PM with Fr.
