Josephine (Muraca) Andres, Josie, 90 of West Mifflin, PA died peacefully on May 8,2018.  She remained at home and was cared for by loving family, friends and care-givers.

Beloved by all who knew her, she shared her warm smile and hugs generously.

She served and taught throughout her life as the St. Agnes, West Mifflin Church and School Organist and Music teacher, Choir Director, mentor to several Organists and long-time President of the Ladies of Charity.  Later in life when she could no longer visit the many shut-ins she cared for she continued her legacy of love and caring through countless cards and calls to those in need of cheer.

Josie loved nothing more than to open her heart and home to friends, relatives and neighbors.  She was always ready to help anyone in need listening, offering a kind word or sound advice.  She will be greatly missed but will live on in so many by the way she has touched their lives with kindness, her smile and her gift of music.

Preceded in death by her husband Charles N. Andres she was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph Eugene and Catherine Muraca of West Homestead.  Josie was also preceded in death by her sister Rose Marie Long and brothers Fedele “Fe” Muraca and Antonio “Tony” Muraca.

Josephine is survived by children Josephine (Jay) Andres (Andrea Miller) of Albuquerque, NM; Charlene Andres-Rohr (Jim) of Westcliffe, Co; Robert Andres (Terry) of Wilmington, DE and Jean Brozack (Vince) of Ligonier, PA.  She is also survived by Granddaughters Valentene Andres and Kayla Andres of Wilmington, DE as well as sisters Jean Fagan of West Mifflin, Carol Ellsworth of Arcadia, California and Brother Joseph Muraca of Munhall as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

Josie was a special Mother and Grandmother to John, Barb and Ron Waszczak and families, Toni Renee (Lombardo) Holland and family, Saundra (Lombardo) Murray and family, Tria Vue and May and Vang Moua and family and so many more.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dedicated caregivers, Anna, Francine W., Holly and Tracie as well as Francine B., neighbors and friendly visitors. They, as well the Healthcare at Home Hospice team, allowed her the dignity to remain peacefully at home for so long.  Your dedication to her care and kindness can never be repaid.

Relatives and Friends will be received at George I. Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main Street Munhall on Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 10am in St. Agnes Church, West Mifflin.   Josephine will be laid to rest next to her loving Husband in St. Agnes Cemetery, following.
