Julius Krista

Julius Krista, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, surrounded by many loving family members at his side.

He was born July 7, 1946, to late parents Stephen Krista and Victoria (Radisauskas) Krista.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Cay Krista, daughter Nancy (John McManis) Sherlock and son John Michael Krista, his siblings Louis (Joann) Krista, and Victoria Bair. He is an adored Pap to six grandchildren: Sam (fiancé Mandi Jiricka) Sherlock, Teri Sherlock, Julissa (fiancé Deon Worthy) Krista, Brock Sherlock, John Myke Krista, and Brady Sherlock and two great grandchildren, Deon Worthy Jr and Sam Sherlock IV. He is preceded in death by brothers, Stephen Krista, and Rudolph Krista, sisters, Joanne Bair, Francis Payer, and Julia Krista and late son-in-law Sam Sherlock. He is loved by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jules worked in the 45” maintenance department of USS Homestead Steel Mill, retired as a truck driver from Institutional Linen Service. His love of music is what brought him and Mary Cay together at the Bethel Dances every Sunday. He continued to enjoy dancing with her whenever he could get the chance, sitting on the porch listening to the Oldies and Hungarian music, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, Pitt football, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday , October 26, 2023 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394).  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 27, 2023 in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish - St. Therese Worshiop site, at 11 AM with Fr. Dan D'Antonio officiating.
