Kathy Butler

Kathleen “Kathy” Butler, of Munhall, PA passed away on August 20, 2025. She was the 5th of 8 children born to Jack and Bernadette Butler. Born and raised in Munhall she graduated from Bishop Boyle High School class of 1979. She received her bachelor degree from College of Notre Dome of Maryland. Kathy was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and recently along with her siblings she received her Irish Citizenship. 

Kathy knew no stranger and was a light in all those who knew her. She never showed up empty handed to a party she brought food and gifts that reminded her of you. Before retirement Kathy worked at PNC bank. In her retirement she was a volunteer with St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on the catering team. 

Kathy’s memory is left to be remembered by her devoted and loving husband Michael “Muncie” Ruffolo; daughter Erin (Jake); grandchildren Caden and Ivy and step-son Eddie. She is survived by her seven siblings Maureen (Robert Maier) Butler, John Butler, Michael (Shari) Butler, Bernadette (Tom) Hobart, Kevin (Diane) Butler, Timothy (Alison) Butler and Mariann Butler. Kathy is survived by her 14 nieces and nephews and their families TJ, Katie, Maddie, Aidan, Elizabeth, Reilly, Jack, Michael, Brighid, Marnie, JD, Kevin, Mackenzie and Michaela. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 6-8 PM and Sunday, August 24, 2-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc, 3511 Main Street, Munhall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday,  August 25, 12 PM at St Thomas the Apostle: St Maximillian Kolbe RC Church, in Homestead. Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 

The family requests you to please write a story or memory of Kathy. At the visitation paper and a box will be provided for you to leave your memory. We ask that you please write this memory for her family to remember the amazing, loving and generous person Kathy was. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
