Lavia M. Catone

Vi "Reemey" Catone, age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 17, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born on March 21, 1947, in Pennsylvania, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by creativity, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living. Vi is lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-three years, Rob Catone; her two sons, Robert and John; daughters-in-law Mandy and Beth, and her four grandchildren—Jordan, Robert Jr., Addison, and Olivia—who affectionately knew her as "Reemey." She also leaves behind her cherished furry companion, Baby Bear. A woman of many talents and passions, Vi found joy in crafting and creating. When she was healthy, she could often be found crocheting blankets and scarves with care or designing festive wreaths to mark each holiday season. Her love for reading offered her quiet moments of reflection and escape. Vi also took immense pride in her home’s outdoor beauty—her garden was a source of personal accomplishment and admiration from neighbors who recognized it as one of the finest in the area. Summers held a special place in Vi’s heart. She treasured time spent at her camp in Tionesta, where she delighted in exploring church yard sales for hidden treasures. These summer days were often shared with her grandpups by her side—a testament to the warmth and companionship she extended not only to people but to animals as well.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 12 noon till time of Memorial Service at 2:30PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA  15120 (412-461-6394).      

Vi "Reemey" Catone’s memory will live on through the love she gave so freely and the traditions she created with those closest to her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
