Margaret Evanish

Margaret (Varvarics) Evanish, 100, formerly of West Mifflin, passed into eternal peace July 2, 2018. Beloved wife of her late husband Nicholas J., Mother of Nicholas C. Evanish, Washington, PA; Patricia Feola (Anthony) New Smyrna Beach, FL; Charles F. Evanish (Bernie), West Mifflin. Cherished grandmother of Lisa Lorenz, (Jason) Castaic, CA; John Feola (Katrina) Birmingham, AL; and Nicholas J. Evanish, (Lindsay) South Park.  Great-Grandmother of Chase Feola, US Marine Corps; Madelyn and Parker Feola, Birmingham, AL.; and Ambrose Charles Evanish, South Park.  Margaret was the sole surviving member of the Varvarics family of Salemville: father Charles, mother Helen, sisters Mary, Helen, Annie, and Pauline, brothers, Henny, Johnny, Nicky, and Michael.  She left school after the eight grade, and as a teenager during the Great Depression moved to Homestead to work and to help support her family. Although she had no formal education, to her family she had a Ph.D. in Motherhood, blessing the family with wonderful meals, a perfect household, and unconditional love.

Margaret was a member of the West Mifflin Senior Citizens and a life-long member of Resurrection Parish.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Louis Komer for his care and advice and nurses (Sharon, JoJo, Veronica) and aides (Daniel, Ganga,) and the staff at Baldwin Health Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Disabled Veterans of America are appreciated.
