Peggy McDonough, age 83 of Oil City, formerly of Munhall, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Born in Homestead on October 11, 1941, she was the oldest of the three children of the late Edmund Joseph and Louise Ann Perenyi Kulpa. She was a member of St Elias Byzantine Catholic Church where she also sang in the church choir. At school, she enjoyed History and English and was inducted into the National Honor Society when she was in 11th grade. She was also a two time winner of the state spelling bee for which she won a $25.00 bond. She enjoyed roller skating, going to basketball games and performing in plays. The family took many trips including some to Niagara Falls, Michigan, New Jersey and many of the state parks of PA. The family also enjoyed spending time at Pymatuning. Peggy graduated from Homestead High School, and on the day following her graduation, she went to work in the superintendent's office which is where she met her husband.

United in marriage to Thomas Joseph McDonough on August 10, 1963, the couple moved to Carnegie where they shared an apartment with Gloria, and Peggy took a job selling prefab houses. The couple then purchased a home in Munhall, and Peggy was proud to say that she was then employed as a Kelly Girl for forty years. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, watching classic tv, food and crocheting. Peggy eventually took a job as the receptionist for Drs. Itskowitz, Lebovitz, and Neiman where she remained until her retirement.

Following the passing of her beloved Tommy, Peggy stayed for an extended time with her daughter, Mary. She then became a resident at Oakwood Heights, where she and her roommate Mary Anne shared many laughs and good times. She spent many hours enjoying being read to and arguing with Alexa.

Peggy is survived by two siblings and their spouses, Edmund Charles Kulpa (wife Candace) of Harrisburg PA, and Lisa Marie Baur (husband Les) of Denver Colorado, her two children Patrick Edmund McDonough of Greenville and Mary Margaret McDonough of Oil City, one daughter-in-law Lisa, one son-in-law John K.
