Margaret A. (Reckard) Santorilla

Margaret formerly of West Homestead passed away peacefully at the age of 95, on July 23, 2023.  She was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Dr. O.J. and Margaret (Smith) Reckard.  Beloved wife of the late Dominic F. Santorilla.  Margaret is survived by her niece Carolyn Ranalli and great-nephew Kenneth (Amy) Ranalli and family; also two step-sons, a great-grandson, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  

She was a graduate of Peabody High School of Pittsburgh, Chatham University, Juilliard School of Music, and the University of Pittsburgh.  Margaret was a retired teacher of 35 years, vice principal and principal with the City of Pittsburgh Schools (Colfax, H.C. Frick, Morningside, and Fulton Schools).  She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Pittsburgh, soprano soloist for numerous Pittsburgh churches, a 25 year member of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and its Board of Directors, member of the Garden Club of Munhall, and AARP #3172.

Family and friends received on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394) where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 3:30 pm.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to the First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA  15219.  Please share your memories and condolences at georgeigreenfuneralhome.com.
