Marjorie Doris Mathews

Marjorie Doris (Franklin) Mathews peacefully at home on Thursday, January 27, 2022, age 90 years of West Mifflin formerly of Munhall. Born in Munhall; a daughter of the late Oliver W. and Helen E. (Nuss) Franklin. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Emory Mathews; loving mother of David R. (Janice) Mathews, Nancy E. Mercer, Ellen J. (John) Lydic and Daniel F. (Denyse) Mathews; cherished grandmother of Douglas A. (Kimberly) Mathews, Beverly Harvey, Matthew (Christen) Mercer, John (Lindsay) Lydic, Nicholas Lydic and Kelsey Lydic and great-grandmother of Josephine (Davis) Kuhn, Georgia Harvey, Mason Mathews, Alessa Mercer and Sylas Mercer. She was preceded in death by her siblings Barbara Clifford and Richard Franklin.

 Marge was a longtime member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church, where she also helped prepare meals for church dinners and attended Bible study. She was a volunteer for Meal on Wheels. She was a member of the Carnegie Library of Homestead where she participated in senior aerobics and swimming. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main Street, Munhall. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Dravosburg United Methodist Church, 109 Maple Ave, Dravosburg with Rev. James Bray and Rev. Jeff Conn officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
