Martha Kovach

Martha (Kubik) Kovach, 94 passed away on June 2, 2026. She was born July 15, 1931, in Charleroi, PA to George and Emilia (Paricka) Kubik. Early in her life Martha worked as a presser in her family’s tailor shop, supporting her mother in her business while helping take care of their home. Throughout her adult life she took on the role of homemaker for her family at their home in Munhall.

She was active in the church most of her life, first at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charleroi then at Messiah Lutheran Church in Munhall. Martha was a member of the adult Sunday School Class. She also cooked and served at numerous church dinners and events. Most well known for her honesty, Martha could always be relied on to deliver a truthful, direct statement when asked. She will be remembered as a dear wife, mother, grandmother, and fabulous baker.

On Oct. 21, 1962 Martha married Edward E. Kovach who preceded her in death in 2003. Before his passing they enjoyed traveling extensively in the southwestern United States, noting Sedona as a uniquely beautiful favorite trip. 

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Bill) Wintruba of Munhall; grandson Paul Wintruba (Gabriellaia Hayslip), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Marie Pyle, brother Milton Kubik and sister Mildred Scheponik (also twins).

Family and friends received on Sunday, June 7, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at George Irvin green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St, Munhall, where a funeral service will be held the following morning, Monday, June 8, at 11 AM.
