It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Martha Lanham, who departed this life on July 3, 2026, at the age of 99. Born on December 19, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Martha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of many. Martha’s journey began in a close-knit family situated in the vibrant community of Munhall, where she later established her own family.
As a devoted mother to her sons, William and Mark, she instilled values of love, kindness, and resilience in her children. Martha is also cherished as a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Diane, William, and Christopher, as well as her great-grandchildren, Keagan, Connor, and Cooper, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind two devoted nephews, Mark and John Loposky. Martha was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, William Lanham; parents, Emery & Mary Kochis; brothers, Emery Kochis Jr. & Andrew Kochis; sister, Dolores Loposky; and grandsons, Patrick & Michael Lanham; all of whom she missed deeply.
Martha demonstrated a profound love for her church, St. Therese R.C., where she shared her beautiful voice by singing in the choir. Her passion for cooking brought delight to family gatherings, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, love, and delicious meals. She found joy in vacationing at her cottage in Pymatuning, where cherished memories with family and friends flourished. And she loved nothing more than shopping dates with those she held dear.
Martha held a special bond with the Ardale family, especially with her beloved Sandy, Sara, and Bill, whom she regarded as extended family. Her warm spirit and caring nature left a lasting impact on all those who knew her.
Martha’s family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Locust Grove Nursing Home, The Residence at Arrowood, and Caring Hospice, particularly to Chaplain Bob for the compassionate care extended to her during her final days.
Friends and family are invited to honor Martha’s beautiful life at the public viewing, taking place on July 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and to 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at St Therese RC Church, 1 St Therese Ct, where we will come together to pay our respects and to celebrate the remarkable legacy she leaves behind. Please leave your memories and condolences at www.georgeigreenfuneralhome.com.
Martha Lanham’s life was a testament to love, community, and faith. Though she will be dearly missed, the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
