Mary Ann Vallus (Krey)

On May 17, 2022 age 75 of Munhall, surrounded by her family Mary Ann went home to her Lord and Savior.  She was born in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late Henry and Agnes (Watson) Krey.  

She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.   That is where she met the love of her life Anthony "Tony" Vallus and were married for over 54 years.  Beloved mother of John (Nicole) and Daniel (Adrienne).  Cherished grandmother of Cameron, Jacob and Grant.  Sister of Carol Grace, Agnes Riley, and the late Joan Krey and Imelda Blair.

After her time in the Air Force she obtained her Masters Degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Pittsburgh thru the GI Bill.  She was a detective for the Allegheny County DA's Office, had her own private investigating business and then became a Securities Fraud Investigator for the PA Securities Commission from where she retired.  While her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and logging many memories throughout the years from vacations and celebrating events together, Mary Ann enjoyed biking, exercising, reading, the arts and having an ice cold can of Miller Lite.  

She was very blessed and grateful for her family and friends but was especially blessed with her faith and thankful to God for all that He has provided her throughout her life.

Family and friends received on Thursday May 19, 2022 from 12 - 4 & 6 - 9PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main St. Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394).  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday May 20, 2022 at 11:30AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese worship site in Munhall.  Interment with full Military Honors will take place on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at 10:30AM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  Everyone please meet at the cemetery.
