Mary Marlene Furlong

On Monday, May 27,2024, Mary Marlene Furlong went home to be with her Lord at the age of 82, in Meadville, PA. Born in Pittsburgh; to the late Joesph and Blanche (Mazur) Papai. She is survived by her beloved husband Clarence Furlong, and three children: Robert (Christine) Furlong, Ronald Furlong, and Renee (Stephen) Schwartz. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Elyse Furlong, Robert Furlong, Stacy Furlong, Brittany (Brendan) Lusik, Raylee Furlong, Rayjae Furlong, Ronald Furlong, Tiffani Furlong, Courtney Furlong, Wayne (Nicole) Owens, Mara Schwartz, and Stephen Schwartz; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn O’Shell and by her two cherished sons Raymond and Richard Furlong. 

Marlene was the matriarch of her family. She was a protector, supporter and friend. She will be remembered for her strength, wisdom, sharp tongue and generosity. She was a devoted member of her church, St. Stephen R.C. Church in Hazelwood, where she worked in the school. Her family is whom she was devoted to most. As the matriarch of her family, Marlene will rest in peace knowing that she paved the way for future generations and touched the lives of everyone she loved. 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc, 3511 Main Street, Munhall, 15120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10 AM with Sem.
