Michael J. Ruffolo

Michael "Muncie" Ruffolo, 64, of Munhall, formerly of Hazelwood, passed away on May 29, 2026. Born on July 25, 1961, Muncie was the beloved son of the late Eugene and Alice Ruffolo. Graduate of the Class of 1979 from Bishop Boyle High School.

Muncie built a life centered on family, service, friendship, and tradition.

Muncie was the devoted husband of the late Kathy Butler, who welcomed him into heaven. He was a proud and loving father to Eddie Ruffolo and Erin (Jake), and an adoring Pappy to his cherished grandchildren, Caden Michael and Ivy, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also survived by his devoted brothers, Richard (Michelle) Ruffolo and Thomas Ruffolo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and members of the Butler family; and his beloved four-legged companion, Dougie.

Muncie dedicated 35 years of service as a Correctional Officer with the Allegheny County Jail and was in the ACPEIU. He was a proud member of the Correctional Officer Honor Guard and honorably represented his fellow officers throughout his career. He also shared his love of music and heritage as a bagpiper with the Pittsburgh Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.

Proud of both his Irish and Italian roots, he embraced family traditions and the values they instilled. He enjoyed spending time at camp, playing golf, and making memories with those he loved. Known for his loyalty, sense of humor, and generous heart, he leaves behind a legacy of dedication, friendship, and love that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation for "Muncie" will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 6 - 8pm at Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 2 - 8pm at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall PA 15120 (412-461-6394). Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish - St. Maximilian Kolbe Worship Site at 10:30am.
