Michael Shields

Michael ‘Mike’ Shields, 67, of Punxsutawney passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Born April 4, 1956, in Homestead, he was the son of the late William Shields and the Late Denise Baranowski. Michael was the beloved father of the late Jason Russman of Saxonburg, Brandy Shields of Sarver, and Michael (Jennifer) Shields of Pleasant Hills. He was the cherished Pap of Conor and Cole Shields. Michael is preceeded in death by his parents William and Denise, his brothers Bill and Scott, his sister, Dawn, and his son, Jason, who he missed dearly. 

Michael enjoyed spending time on his farm taking care of his cows, hunting, and spending time with his kids and grandsons. He worked at Miller Welding for the past several years where he made many great friends. He was also a proud US Marine veteran.

Family and friends will be recieved on Friday, August 18th, form 1-4 pm at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, 15120, ((412)461-6394), where a blessing service (with millitary honors to follow) will take place at 4:00 pm with Fr. Dan Sweeney presiding.
