Nancy Lee Stiehm, a beloved mother known for her warmth and vivacious spirit, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2025, with her daughter, Suzanne, by her side. Born on October 12, 1934, in Windber, Nancy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family.
Nancy enjoyed a fruitful career in the Accounts Payable Department of US Steel, where her family fondly recalls her lively enthusiasm, often answering the phone with an exuberant "Revenue!" Her professional life was a testament to her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
A major animal lover, Nancy cherished her time with her beagle-mix Maddie and rescue pup Cody. Her compassion extended not only to her pets but to all living creatures, embodying kindness and a nurturing spirit.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy celebrated life's joys through her many hobbies and interests. She was an avid country line dancer, sharing many cherished moments on the dance floor with her twin sister, Norma. The bond between the two was one of affection and companionship that left a lasting impression on all who knew them. Nancy also enjoyed figure skating, bingo, and was a Pittsburgh Pirates , proudly holding season tickets. Her passion for entertainment was evident in her love for the television show "Dancing with the Stars," which brought her much joy.
Nancy was a devoted member of the Red Hat Society, connecting with others through shared laughter, adventure, and a sense of community that brought vibrancy to her later years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Suzanne Erhard, and her nephews, Jay Hunter and Jeff (Sharon) Hunter, along with her tow faithful canine companions, Maddie and Cody.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie L. Steele and Ruth H. (Hissong) Steele, her twin sister, Norma Roney, and her brothers, David H. Steele and Leslie W. Steele, and her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" E. Stiehm.
Visitation is private and being handled by the George Irvin Green Funeral Home in Munhall. Nancy will be entombed along sides her parents and her twin, whom she missed dearly, in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
