Patrick Murphy

Patrick Eugene Murphy, 54, of West Mifflin, PA, on March 15, 2017 was born in St. Marys, PA on September 13, 1962 to Robert M. and Virginia M. (Eckert) Murphy of Ridgway, PA. He married the love of his life, Patricia (Patty) Hazel Allen, on June 11, 1994. Patrick is survived by his wife, his parents, and siblings, Robert J. Murphy and Colleen E. (Raymond) Hansen, as well as loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, and their children. He was preceded in death by his beloved nephew, Ryan M. Murphy.

Patrick graduated from Ridgway Area High School in June 1981. He received a vocational education, and worked for several companies in the Pittsburgh area, including The Community of Reconciliation Church, CLASS (UCP), T.R.C.I.L., and Moriarty Consultants.   Patrick was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints, McKeesport Branch. He served an honorable mission for the Church for two years, in the Billings Montana area.

Pat was very compassionate, and had a smile for everyone he met. He loved the natural outdoors and was an avid fisherman.  He lived the golden rule, as he treated everyone around him with caring and respect.  His sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew him.  For eight years, he faced great physical challenges in his fight with terminal brain cancer, but through all of his adversity, he remained positive and cheerful, and ended his mortal life as he had lived it, with dignity and grace, always thinking of others before himself.

Pat’s family would also like to express their gratitude to his teams of dedicated caregivers and medical professionals for their kind and compassionate treatment.

Funeral services will take place at the McKeesport Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 10 Center St., Versailles, PA, at 10:00 am on Monday, March 20th, 2017.
